Auxiliary Telephone Amplifiers

These are external amplifiers that connect to an existing telephone.  The most common type of auxiliary telephone amplifier connects between the handset and the base unit.  Some auxiliary amplifiers will replace the handset of the telephone with an amplified handset with the volume control located in the handset.  Other amplifiers will slip over the earpiece on the telephone,  this type of amplifier will work on any style or type of telephone.

Amplified Telephones (wired)

With these telephones the amplifier is built into the telephone itself.  The majority of these amplified telephones generally includes an adjustable volume control, an adjustable tone control for improved clarity along with a visual light flasher and amplified ringer.   Most ringers can be adjusted for pitch, loudness and ring tone.  Some of the models available include 900 MHz cordless telephones.

Hearing Aid Telephone/Cellular Compatibility

These devices and accessories provide an electro-magnetic field output designed to couple to a hearing aid telecoil.  This provides a means of hearing aid compatibility between a telephone (especially cell phones) and the telecoil  built into some hearing aids.  This type of device is ideal for using cellular phones hands free.  It must be remembered that a hearing aid must first be equipped with telecoil to use any of the induction devices shown in this section.

Amplified Telephones (cordless)

Finally we have two truly amplified telephones that are cordless.

Answering Machines

Now a Digital Answering Machine that can record both voice and TTY callers on the same machine. Voice playback adjustments include; loudness, tone and speed.  You can really slow down the playback speed to get those hard to hear phone numbers.

TTY - Text Telephones - VCO/HCO Phones

TTY's, TDD's or text-telephones are special telecommunication devices for the deaf, hard-of-hearing and speech impaired.   These devices are designed to allow text messages to be typed between the telephone units.  These products include a line of sub-products for both Voice-Carry-Over (VCO) services and Hearing-Carry-Over (HCO).  The VCO is very well equipped for use by the elderly who don't want to learn new technology or many buttons has a tendency to confuse.
